Louis “Buzz” Joseph McNichol, Jr. passed away in Moneta, VA on May 12, 2017 at the age of 73.
Buzz is survived by his loving wife, Cecelia “Terry”, of 51 years. They were married in Kintnersville, Pennsylvania on August 21, 1965. They dated for 3 years, 3 months, and 3 days before they got married and were blessed with 3 daughters.
Buzz is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Theresa “Tina” Rowlett and husband, John, of Burke, VA, Michelle Donovan and husband, Tim, of Skippack, PA, and Nicole Ventresca and husband, Anthony, of Doylestown, PA. He is survived by 5 grandsons, Jack Rowlett, Nicholas Rowlett, Connor Donovan, Cody Ventresca, and Jake Ventresca and 3 granddaughters, Erin Donovan, Kylae Donovan, and Regan Donovan.
Buzz was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 19, 1943. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1961 and went on to play football at Moravian College where he graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Buzz went from working for Esso to owning Town Mobil in Quakertown, PA and K&L Lumber Company.
Buzz and Terry joyfully retired to their dream home at Smith Mountain Lake, VA in 2005. He showed grace and courage while enduring Huntington’s Disease. He enjoyed time with family, traveling, motorcycles, racing cars and ATVs, snowmobiles, skydiving, scuba diving, boating, hunting, and fishing.
The Celebration of Buzz’s life will be held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 13586 Old Moneta Rd., Moneta, VA 24121 at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 22, 2017 with Reverend David Lord officiating. A reception will take place immediately following the service.
