Louise Carson Smith

Louise Carson Smith, 86, of Lynchburg, died on Saturday, February 04, 2012 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Cantrell \"Ken\" Smith. Louise was born on December 13, 1925 in Appomattox County, a daughter of the late Clyde Davidson Carson and the late Ruby Chick Carson.

Louise is survived by two daughters, Nanci Heptinstall and husband, Fred of Tampa, FL and Linda Wingfield and husband, John of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Meagan Skinner of Denver, CO and Tristan Skinner of Lynchburg; one sister, Anne Showalter and husband, Sonny of Lynchburg and a niece and nephew, Kathy Draper of Lynchburg and Steve Showalter of Hillsboro, NC.

Louise was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church and was retired from General Electric. She was a graduate of Appomattox County High School and Phillips Business College.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the funeral home by the Rev. Vernie Barrow. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Appomattox County.
