Louise Coffey Arrington, 97, of New London, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Born in Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Lula Logwood Coffey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Roy Rogers Arrington; daughter, Dianne A. James; four brothers, George, Lloyd, Earl and Edward Coffey; and one sister, Christine C. Faribault.
Louise was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and embraced her life with a strong faith and belief in the power of prayer. She had a quiet and gentle approach to others and a healthy sense of humor for circumstances in everyday life. She was an avid gardener, a determined seamstress, a quilter and a needle crafter. She appreciated the creative talents of others, long after her own physical abilities prevented her from spending her leisure hours doing the things that brought her joy.

James III and wife, Kathy of Richmond, Dawn Denise Capiello and spouse, Chris of Richmond, Lynette James of Lynchburg, Shann Arrington of Lynchburg, and Jade Arrington of Pacifica, California; three great grandchildren: Kelsey Capiello and Austin Capiello of Richmond and Haleigh James of Richmond; and her kitty cat, Midnight.
A host of nieces and nephews, former neighbors and church friends spent time with Louise throughout her long life and she cherished each and every visit. Heartfelt appreciation is extended to a special care-giver, Carol Creasy, for all her kindnesses and for her ability to laugh each day with \"Granny.\" Gratitude is expressed to the staff at the Summit Rehabilitation Center for the warm and thoughtful care provided throughout the weeks of her preparation to return home.
