Louise Holdren Noell
Berta Louise O\"™Brien Holdren Noell, 101, of Lynchburg, VA, died Thursday, February 16, 2012. She was the wife of the late Brodis E. Holdren and the late William Robert Noell.
Born Saturday, September 24, 1910 in Appomattox, Louise a daughter of the late Berta Thomas O'Brien and the late Joseph Clark O'Brien.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Louise was preceded in death by two sisters:Alice Comer and Mary Burnam; and four brothers: Derry, Josh, Jesse, and Taylor O\"™Brien.
Louise is survived by her son, E. Thomas Holdren, of Tallahassee, FL, two grandsons: Erich D. Holdren and his wife, Cindy, of Rowlett, TX, and Mark T. Holdren and his wife, Barbara, of Conover, NC; a great grandson, Justin Holdren, of Rowlett, TX; two great granddaughters: Constance Holdren, of Conover, NC, and Tarran Holdren, of Conover, NC, a great great-granddaughter Ada Holdren, of Garland, TX, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Louise will be remembered as a very caring and giving person, who would go out of her way to help others. She loved to stay on the go. For many years she was a member of Epsworth United Methodist Church in Thaxton, and recently transferred her membership to Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church here in Lynchburg. Louise was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, the oldest member of RSVP in Rustburg, and a member of various homemaker and garden clubs.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a,m, on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. C. Randall Harlow officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Bedford.
