Louise Martin Scott, 85, of Lynchburg, passed peacefully Saturday, September 29, 2018.
Born on April 19, 1933 in Bedford County, Va. Louise was a daughter of the late Walter Edward Martin and the late Inez Johnson Martin.
She was a lover of people and she shared this love with everyone she met.
Her love also showed in her employment, as she retired from Social Services with the City of Lynchburg. Just the mention of her name brought a smile to everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Scott Jr. and her siblings: Lee Martin, Myrtle Carr, Maggie Reynolds, Mildred Ferris, and Jimmy Martin.
Louise is survived by her children: Jeffery Allen Scott, Sr., Kathryn Dudley and her husband, Joseph, Raymond Martin Scott, Sr. and his wife, Regina, Gary Lawrence Scott and his wife, Diane, and Justin Dean Scott, Sr.; her step-son Erle Scott and his wife, Kathy; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her brother William E. Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg from 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of Louise’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
We are sure Louise has flatfooted her way through the pearly gates, and is rejoicing with loved ones that have previously passed.
