Louise Withers Mills

Louise Withers Mills has joined her parents and loved ones in Heaven. She was born March 30, 1962, the fourth child of Clarence Montgomery Mills, Jr. and Betty Meade Meriwether Mills.

She graduated from Seven Hills School in Lynchburg, class of 1980 and was co-captain of the basketball, tennis and volleyball teams. She got her associates degree at Southern Seminary in 1982 where she was voted May Queen.

In her youth she spent summers at Cape Cod and east coast beaches as family babysitter and waitress, and tennis coach at Camp Mont Shenandoah. She began her career in the food industry working for Russell Stover Candies and Nabisco, and returned to her passion of waiting tables and being surrounded by people having fun. She also worked in the fashion industry and traveled to bazaars in Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia with a passion for finding just the right ensemble for each shopper. Her favorite hobby was nature photography at which she excelled. She is survived by her chocolate lab and loyal friend Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her siblings, Ann Douglas Skelton, Margaret Meriwether Haw and Clarence Montgomery Mills III, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored. She put the F in FUN.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 104 Walnut Hollow Road, Lynchburg, VA 24503 with Reverend Jim Young officiating. There will be a brief private family burial at the adjacent family cemetery site, with a reception for all loved ones to follow at the church.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.
