Louise Woodson Gardner

Surrounded by loved ones, Louise passed peacefully at Lynchburg General Hospital on  Monday, December 6, 2010.  She was the wife of the late Charles Allen Gardner. She was fondly known to everyone as Grandma Louise.

Louise was born May 29, 1923 in Pittsylvania County, VA, a daughter of the late Jesse Ephraim Woodson and Nannie Bailess Woodson.

She is survived by her sons, Chuck Gardner (Pam), of Lynchburg, and Harry V. Gardner of Madison Heights; two sisters, Christine Rowland of Hurt and Margaret Moorefield of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, James Woodson (Hazel), of Hurt; two grandsons Kendall Gardner (Shelly), of Lynchburg and Robert Gardner (Jennifer), of Madison Heights; eleven great-grandchildren, Kiersten, Logan, Kyler, Angelina, Caleb, Hunter, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Aiden, Justin and Ethan; a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ola Price and Edna  Shelton; and two brothers, Aubrey Woodson and Leroy Woodson.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory.  A service will be held in the spring at the Old City Cemetery scattering garden.
