Lovie York, 43 years old of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, after fighting a long battle with cancer.
Lovie was born on February 21, 1977, in Suffolk, a daughter of Alan York and Joanne York. Lovie always would try to cheer someone up when they were down or bring the life out of any party. Lovie is an amazing mother of two daughters: Goldie Jones and Amber Jones, but nothing gave her more purpose in life than her two granddaughters, Bella Rose and Lovie Ann. Lovie grew up with three siblings: Benny York, Robbie York, and Goldie Brown. Her loving family stayed strong together through all trials and tribulations. This caring woman also has eight nieces and seven nephews: Joanne York, Heaven York, Tina York, Mandie York, Annie Paulsen, Amanda York, Madison Brown, Briana Brown, and the nephews are: Robbie York, Matthew York, Ben Mitchell, Alan York, Benny York, Austin Paulsen, and Josher York.
Lovie will be in repose from 12:00 until 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Lovie’s Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with Pastor Nelson Stanley officiating.
Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk.
