Lowell Ivanhoe Maddox, 78, of Gladys, died April 20, 2016. He was the loving husband of Ann Shipp Maddox for 46 years.
Lowell was born July 4, 1937 in Campbell County a son of the late Gilbert Ivanhoe Maddox and Mary Sublett Maddox. Lowell honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy, “Tex” was retired from B & W Technologies of 38 years and was a member of Edge Baptist Church in Gladys.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons: Chad Maddox and his wife Danna of Hope Mills, NC, and Calan Maddox of Gladys, three grandchildren: Logan, Haley, and Riley Maddox, and one brother Ray S. Maddox of Gladys.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Billy Maddox and James Maddox.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday April 22, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Lowell’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 23, 2016 at Edge Baptist Church, 3232 Epsons Rd. Gladys, with Pastor Steve Emory officiating. Military honors to be performed by American Legion Post #16.
