Lowry William “June” Hawkins

Lowry William \"June\" Hawkins, Jr., 79, of Montvale, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at his residence.  He was born on June 1, 1930, a son of the late Betty Juanita Fielder Hawkins and Lowry William Hawkins, Sr.



He was a member of Walnut Grove Union Church and a lifetime member of Montvale Volunteer Fire Dept.  Lowry was a retiree of Lyn-Cag in Lynchburg and was currently employed by CVAAA in Lynchburg.  He was also a volunteer for RSVP of Bedford County.



In addition to his parents, Lowry was preceded in death by five half brothers and one sister, Juanita Frances Hawkins Craig.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley H. Hawkins; one son, Larry Scott Hawkins; one grandchild, Erica Lynn Hawkins and one great-grandson, Dakota Logan Redden (his little man), sisters-in-law, Mary Harris and Carolyn Angell and husband, Ronnie; three nieces and three nephews.



Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Grove Union Church Building Fund or Montvale Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 144, Montvale, VA 24122.



A celebration of Lowry\"™s life will be conducted at 11 AM, Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Walnut Grove Union Church with Rev.
