Luke Nolan Raines, 23, passed away on March 18, 2016. Luke was a resident of Lynchburg, Va., a 2010 graduate of E.C. Glass, and a student at CVCC. Born in Ripon, Calif., he moved to Virginia in 2000. He loved science, hiking in the outdoors, music, working with his hands, and most of all, his friends.
Preceding him in death were the late James “Donald” Raines and the late Mary McFadden.
He leaves behind his father, Richard; his mother Mary (Missy); his siblings, Brandon and Shannon, both of Lynchburg, and Travis of Oakland, Calif. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Doris Raines of Wichita Falls, Texas; his grandfather Joseph McFadden of Caldwell, NJ; seven uncles, three aunts, and thirteen cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Timberlake United Methodist Church, with Chaplain Ann Gibbons officiating.
