Lyle Samuel Wilson

Lyle Samuel Wilson, of Lynchburg, Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
Born October 22, 1934, in Campbell County,Sam was a son of the late Dave Wilson and the late Bessie Crouch Wilson.
Sam was preceded in death by his first wife, June “Sarah” Wilson; and a son, Garnett Wilson.
Sam was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church.
Sam is survived by his wife Carol and her children: Judy Moore, Susan Brown, Kevin Ware, and Allen Ware; his children, Patricia “Trickie” Wilson, Larry Wilson, and Renee Eagle; a sister, Etta “Sissy” Wilson; a brother, Pete McHugh; 16 grandchildren, one deceased, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Sunday, March 18, 2018, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. A celebration of Sam’s life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Monday, March 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to Allen B. Pearson Cancer Center, 1920 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg VA 24501.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
