Mabel Anderson Jones

Mabel Virginia Anderson Jones, 94, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Oakwood Manor. Born on August 8, 1918, a daughter of the late Robert Melvin Anderson and Octavia Overstreet Anderson. In addition to her parents Mabel was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Cecil Jones; five brothers and five sisters.

Mable was a member of Thaxton Baptist Church; she enjoyed life, laughter and hospitality.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce J. Krantz and her husband, AC; three grandchildren, Randy C. Krantz and his wife, Dina, of Bedford Jeffrey Krantz of Lynchburg and Steve Krantz and his wife, Jenny of Halifax; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Krantz, Captain Spencer Krantz, Emily Krantz and Abbie Krantz; special sister-in-law, Rachel Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Albert and Nancy Yates;

A Celebration of Mabel\"™s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford with the former pastor of Thaxton Baptist Church, Rev. Johnson Gupton, Rev. Johnny Gupton and Rev. Marion Kanour officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
