Mable Allie Apperson, 92, of Lynchburg, died on Thursday, July 9, 2015. She was the wife of the late William D. Stratton and the late Thomas Fox Apperson.
Mable was born in Rustburg, Va. on May 9, 1923, a daughter of the late Sidney Caldwell and the late Zephna Caldwell. She was a long time member of Court Street United Methodist Church and participated in foreign missions to assist those in need in other parts of the world.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Stratton, and her son, William Daniel Stratton, III.
Mable is survived by two daughters, Nancy Gallagher and Margaret Ann Mason; her sister Louise Beale; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Ziel, Pamela Stratton, Joel Gordon, Destiny Gordon, Haley Bortzer; three great-grandchildren, and other family members.
A memorial service will be held at Court Street United Methodist Church on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Mark A. Tinsley officiating. A graveside service will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
