Madeline Elizabeth Looney

Madeline Elizabeth Looney, 83, of Thaxton, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011. She was born January 2, 1928 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late James H. Coleman and Edna M. Hoffman Coleman.

Madeline is survived by her husband, Otha Lee Looney, Jr., two sons; John Young and wife, Sharon, Raymond E. Young and wife, Trisha, one daughter; Beverly Clark, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Madeline enjoyed dancing, watching television, and nature. To honor Madeline\Ӫs love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to Bedford Humane Society, PO Box 1293, Bedford VA 24523.

A celebration of Madeline\Ӫs life will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Father Salvador A̱oueuvo officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Union Church in Montvale. Visitation will be at Tharp Funeral Home Friday, January 28, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM.
