Madeline Mayberry Wright, 90, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, October 02, 2013. She was the wife of the late Homer Lee Wright.
Born on Wednesday, April 18, 1923 in Evergreen, VA, Madeline was the daughter of the late Dock Nowlin Mayberry and the late Virginia Elder Mayberry.
Madeline is survived by her children: Nancy Wiley, Kay McCrickard and her husband, Haywood, and Mark Wright and his wife, Betty, five grandchildren: Heather Wiley, Brian McCrickard and his wife, Jennifer, Troy McCrickard and his wife, Trista, Brooke Wright, and Devin Wright; three great grandchildren: Chandler, Emma, and Haven McCrickard; and a son in-law, Robert Wiley.
Madeline was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a hardworking homemaker who loved her church, Fairview Christian Church, was a member of the Rebakah\"™s, and enjoyed working with the children\"™s PTA.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Friday, October 04, 2013 at Fairview Christian Church. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 04, 2013 at Fairview Christian Church with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Va 24018.
