Mamie Cornelia Dodson Hall, 95, of Rustburg died Monday September 30, 2013. She was the wife of the late Stanley H. Hall.
Mamie was born October 17, 1917 in Campbell County a daughter of the late Preston Clark Dodson and the late Alma Holland Dodson. Mamie was a graduate of Rustburg High School and then worked as a seamstress with C.B. Cones. She was a longtime member of the Church of God in Lynchburg and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra H. Droog and husband David of Rustburg, six grandchildren: Wendy Posey and husband Randy of Anmoore, WV; David Droog and wife Dawn of Rustburg; Benjamin Droog of Farmville; Philip Droog and wife April of Gretna; Daniel Droog and wife Marcy of Rustburg; Sarah Owens and husband John of Gladys, ten great-grandchildren: Renee Everhart and husband Joe, Spc. Stanley Droog, Pvt.2 David Droog, Joseph and Johanna Droog, Andrew and Rebekah Posey, Jacob and Caroline Owens, and Philip Droog, one sister Doris D. Brown of Lynchburg, three brothers: H.K. Dodson and wife Mary of Altavista, Lynwood J. Dodson of Lynchburg, and Warren C. Dodson of Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. tonight, Wednesday October 2, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 3, 2013 at the Dodson Family Cemetery in Rustburg with the Rev. Merle Dodson and Rev. Mike Dodson officiating.
