Margaret Ann “Maggie” Malone Gelven, 77, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
She was the wife of the late Joseph William Gelven Jr.
Born Sunday, February 9, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late James Malone and the late Cora Demorest Malone.
Maggie graduated from Marquette High School in Oklahoma. She met her husband Bill while attending Mount St. Scholastica College in Atchison, Kansas where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Bill and Maggie married in 1964 and were married for 56 years until Bill’s passing in July 2018. She raised her three children and cherished and enjoyed her five grandchildren in her golden years. Maggie was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughters, Kathleen G. Raine (Dudley), and Mary Beth Gelven Woody (Harold); a son, Matthew J. Gelven, (Michaela), and five grandchildren: Dudley Raine, IV, Cassandra Gelven, Emily Raine, Ryan Woody, and Renée Woody.
A private service will be held at a later date.
