Margaret Ellen Cardwell, affectionately known as “Peggy”, 64, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Born December 29, 1950, a native of Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the Edward and the late Margaret Anne Evans.
Peggy was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She also was a member of Rustburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by her father, Edward Ennis Evans; her daughter, Kersten Cardwell Morrison of Lynchburg; her sister, Susan Evans Gore (Brooks) of Little River, South Carolina; three brothers, John Evans of Rustburg, Thomas Evans (Karen) of Wingate, North Carolina, and David Evans (Haley) of Hurt, Virginia; Her Granddaughter, Kasey Morrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Anne Evans and her brother, Michael Evans.
Peggy and her family wanted to thank the staff of Liberty Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for the unconditional care and comfort that they provided to her during the past six months and also to the many caregivers and helpers that were a part of Peggy’s life after her accident.
A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. today, Friday November 20, 2015 at Rustburg Baptist Church with Pastor W. Richard Cole officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 today immediately prior to the service.
