Margaret Flythe Teague

\"The strife is over, the battle is done. The victory of life is won. The song of triumph has begun.\" Margaret Flythe Teague \"Peggy\" died from pancreatic cancer on December 31, 2011.

She was born July 2, 1936 to the late Virginia White and Simon Sutton Flythe in Fieldale Virginia. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband of fifty three years and high school sweet heart Francis Bailey Teague, Jr. M.D.\"Jensie". Also surviving are three children Ferrell Nexsen (Randy), Jensie Teague, III (Kay), and Meg Walker (Mike), three brothers Buck Flythe (Helen), Sutton Flythe (Brenda), Tom Flythe (Alice) a brother in law Nelson Teague (Martha) and many nieces ad nephews.

Peggy lived a joyful life filled with blessings. Eight of those were her adored grandchildren: Court Nexsen (Evans), Gray Nexsen, Meg Nexsen, Jensie Teague, IV, Anne Teague, Redmond Teague, Holt Walker, and Bailey Walker, each with whom she shared an individual and special relationship.

She loved her family, friends, community, and First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder and Deacon and taught first grade Sunday school for forty years.

An alumnus of Saint Mary\"™s School and Mary Baldwin College, Peggy was an active community leader serving on the Boards of Point of Honor, The Williams Home, YWCA, Daily Bread, Seven Hills School, Meals on Wheels, and The Florence Crittenton Home. She was former president of The Lynchburg Garden Club and The Lynchburg Academy of Medicine Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge, Bible Study, book club, her retreat at Litchfield Beach, walks on the bike trail, chocolate and peanut butter. Peggy will be remembered for her selflessness, never failing sense of humor and positive attitude that she exhibited through life and her entire illness.

A celebration of Peggy\"™s life will be held with a memorial service at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 7 at First Presbyterian Church at 1215 VES Road, Lynchburg VA, 24503 and a reception following nearby at the home of Ferrell and Randy Nexsen at 3809 Peakland Place. The family asks that any gifts in her memory be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Greater Blue Ridge Chapter, 3959 Electric Road, #222, Roanoke VA, 24018, First Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.

The Family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support of friends and family and the attentive care she received from the Lynchburg Medical Community and Lynchburg General Hospital\"™s oncology unit.
