Margaret Jane Diley

Margaret (Maggie) Jane Diley (Nee Macy), 82, of Moneta, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on August 23, 2021.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Diley; her son, Steven Taylor and his wife, Monique plus their two children- Audrey and Sonja; her stepchildren: Meredith (Diley) Kiess and her husband, Brian plus two children – Sydney and Maxton; Elizabeth (Diley) Spry and her husband, Jeff plus four children – John, Alivia, Nathan, and Jaiden; and Brent Diley and wife, Kelly plus two children – Xavier and Nolan.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Edgar and Christina (nee Thomson) Macy, her brothers Gilbert Macy and Robert Macy. Margaret also lost two children, Keith (age 39) and Kyle (age 3).
She was born on June 4,1939, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Margaret attended Cuyahoga Falls High School and graduated in 1957. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Hiram College in 1988.
Margaret was involved in several volunteering efforts which included the Franklin County Memorial Hospital, Discovery Shop and the SML Women’s club.
While she was able, she enjoyed gardening, tole painting, and jewelry making. She retired from the Michelin Tire Company in 1999 and started enjoying the lake life. Also, she enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, and her dog – Zoey and her two cats – Otis & Redding.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
