Margaret Jones Thaxton
Margaret Estelle Jones Thaxton, 89, of Matthews, NC died Tuesday, May 15, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents George L. Jones, Sr. and Emma S. Jones; two brothers, John S. Jones and George L. Jones, Jr.; and a sister, Eva J. Moon.
Surviving are her daughters; Suzanne T. Stultz, Margaret T. Berkey and husband H. Breck Berkey; grandson, Benjamin J. Berkey; and granddaughter, Megan S. Berkey, all of Matthews, NC.
Margaret\"™s spiritual gift was being a consummate listener. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lynchburg, VA, and was well loved by all who knew her. She cherished the many visits with family and friends. True joy for Margaret came from spending time with her family, being involved in all their activities and doting over her grandchildren. She also dearly loved her dog, Snuggles.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM Friday, May 18, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, VA. A Celebration of Life service will be held immediately after the visitation. Entombment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Home, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
