Margaret (Maggie) Jameson Waldrop, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away on January 23, 2015 at 9:24PM.
Mrs. Waldrop was born on July 4, 1934, in Easley, South Carolina, the twelfth child of the late Thomas Milton Jameson, Sr. and Minnie Cox Jameson.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Anna Melissa; six brothers: T.M, Junior, Carl, Randolph, Lake, Ansel, and Jack Jameson; and by three sisters: Viola J. Hanna, Minnie Lee J. Vincent, and Sybal J. Johnson.
In addition to her husband, Harry D. Waldrop, she is survived by her daughter, Cindee Pletke and her husband, Al; granddaughter, Lauren Gullitti; and grandsons: Matthew Gullitti and Jeromy Pletke. Also surviving are her sister, Sallie J. Von Kaenel of Clemson, South Carolina; brother, Hoyd Donald Jameson, of Easley, South Carolina, and sister-in-law Claire W. Jameson, of Sumter, South Carolina.
Mrs. Waldrop attended Furman University and Winthrop University. She worked for many years as an accountant with furniture manufacturing companies in Collinsville, Virginia and retired from Courtauld’s Films.
Mrs. Waldrop was a member of First Baptist Church, Lynchburg, where she was a member of the Sunday school and Women’s Mission Organization. Prior to moving to Lynchburg in 2002, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Virginia. She held many positions of leadership in this church and in the Henry County Baptist Association. She was WMU Director for the church for many years and also served as WMU Director for the association. She also taught Sunday school and was director of Church Training. She held a very special place in her heart for her church family there and for the loving people in Lynchburg.
A special thanks is given to the family of Dr. Dean Gianokos and staff at Lynchburg Family Medicine Center and to Centra Hospice. Centra Hospice made her life so much easier; a special thank you to her nurse Lynda Quinn, her caregiver Brenda Proctor, and to Sallie and Ed Cass for all their love and guidance.

The family will receive friends at Mr. Waldrop’s home after a memorial service at First Baptist Church in Lynchburg, on Monday, January 26th, at 3:30 PM. A graveside service will be held in Easley, South Carolina at a later date.
