Margaret Nance Watson, 92, of Moneta, peacefully died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 7, 1925 in Youngstown, OH to the late Kathryn McDaniel Nance and the late Rosser Burton Nance. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, William Daniel “Dan” Watson; and a sister, Ann Dinwiddie.
Margaret is survived by 3 daughters, Betty Rorer and husband Rudy, Patti Ragsdale and husband Steve and Mitchi Smith and husband Craig. Also, left to cherish her memory are 7 grandchildren, Andrea, Leigh Anne, Jonathan and wife Mallory, Hannah, Jake, Sarah Rugsdale-Cotto and husband Leo and Margaret “Margee”; two great grandchildren, Gianna and Ezra; a sister, Helen Hubbard; a brother, R.B. Nance; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret also leaves behind her feline companions whom she loved dearly.
Margaret enjoyed staying home working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She had a passion for cooking and enjoyed trying new recipes with her family and friends. Margaret was a longtime resident of the Moneta community and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The daughters would like to thank Frances Johnson and granddaughter, Andrea for the excellent care they provided during Margaret’s extended illness.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you consider a memorial donation in Margaret’s memory to a charity of your choice.
