Margaret Lucas Noell, 93, of Bedford, died peacefully, at her home Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
Born in Greenville, Virginia on November 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Heloise Lucas Miller and Frank Robert Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Jack Wells Noell; a grandson: Michael D. Jeffreys, and sister: Louise Lucas Bragg.
She is survived by one daughter: Peggy Noell Jeffreys; two grandsons: William A. Jeffreys, Jack T. Jeffreys and wife, Angie; two great grandchildren: Jack Conner, and Alexandrea; brother in law: Bill Noell and wife, June and many nephews and friends.
During the war, Margaret worked as a stenographer and later in the private sector as a secretary, till retiring. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and her home. Her family enjoyed her famous “Chocolate Cake”. Her grandsons were the joy of her life, their summer visits gave her many fond memories.
A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11:00 am at Virginia Memorial Park with Father F. Wilson Brown Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends and family at the home.
