Margaret Presgraves

June 28, 1930 — April 27, 2024

Margaret Marrow Presgraves of Front Royal, VA passed away on April 27, 2024, at the age of 93, 1 month before her 94th birthday after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease.

Margie is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Randy, of 71 years, her two children Allen Presgraves (Jan), and Susan Robinson (Scott), grandchildren; Austin, Shae, Jordan, and Nathan, and her brother Jimmy Marrow.

She is preceded in death by her son David Presgraves, her grandson Brandon Presgraves, two sisters, and her older brother.

Marge was born to Addison and Jane Marrow in Beaufort, NC. She and her four siblings grew up in and around Front Royal, VA, many of those years on a farm just outside of town. After high school,  Marge graduated from Business College and met her husband at the local skating rink, they were married a year later at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church.

Shortly after tying the knot Marge and Randy left Virginia for San Antonio, TX where Randy was stationed in the Air Force. After several years Virginia called them back and they settled down in Blacksburg where both became lifelong Hokies.

Marge and Randy moved throughout Virginia; Springfield, Roanoke (2), Lynchburg (2), Chesapeake, and Richmond (2). While living in Tidewater and raising three active children, Marge returned to school at Old Dominion University and earned a BS in education. She taught Special Education retiring after 25 years. Marge loved her students and still receives letters from some to this day.

Marge and Randy traveled across the country to every state in the continental US except North Dakota, in their motor coach. They had many adventures and made many lifelong friends.
When not traveling around with Randy she enjoyed singing in the church choir, delivering meals on wheels, and spending hours in her flower gardens.

Family was her greatest joy and she showered love on each of us. Marge lived the last five years at Westminster Canterbury, Lynchburg. The staff became a part of her/our family in every way. We will be forever grateful to them.

A celebration of life will be held on May 18th in the Westminster Canterbury Chapel at 11:00 A.M.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Judes or your favorite local charity.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
