Margaret Tyler Ferguson, 81, of Madison Heights died at her home Wednesday June 22, 2016. She was the loving wife of Paul Gregory Ferguson for over 62 years.

Margaret was born December 3, 1934 in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Roy Tyler and Ethel Shepherd Tyler. Margaret was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center. She enjoyed swimming and exercising at the Jamerson YMCA and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, and attended the Monroe Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Shelby Sutton and her husband David of Rustburg and Sharon Butler of Rustburg, four grandchildren: Kimberly Humbles, Stephanie Sutton, Kari Sutton, and Michelle Butler, two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Austin Humbles, and a brother Henry Tyler of Washington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Roy Tyler, and two sisters, Evelyn Lee and Helen Abbott.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.

A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with Pastor Donald Wayne Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
