Marguerite Williams Gottschall

July 24, 1921 — April 12, 2016

Marguerite Williams Gottschall, 94, of Madison Heights, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was the wife of the late Willaim Henry Gottschall.

Marguerite was born July 24, 1921, in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Frank Williams and June Bayne Williams. Marguerite was a licensed beautician working from her home for many years following her retirement from Baldwin’s Beauty Salon and The Vogue. She was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sisters, Myrtle Knopp of Concord, and Geri Cousart of Lynchburg; a brother, Tunney E. Williams, Sr. and his wife, Janet of Amherst; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Charles Williams, Frank Williams, Jr., and Benny Williams; one half-sister, Ethel; and three half-brothers, Lawrence, Lawson, and Russell.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A Celebration of Marguerite’s Life will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Janet Harris and the staff at the Privette Home for their loving care of Marguerite.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 34th Street and Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104, or to a charity of your choice.
