Maria Luisa Soto

Maria Luisa Soto, 100, of Bedford, Virginia passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She was the loving wife to the late Florentino Soto for seventy-two years. 

Maria was born on December 27, 1923, in Puerto Rico to the late Guillermo Hernandez Soto and Elidia Roman Brignoni. Maria was a wonderful seamstress throughout her life. She could be described as a prayer warrior as she was devoted to her faith. She was an outstanding wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Lydia Del Rio and husband, Antonio, grandchildren, Daniel Velasquez Jr., Jennifer Berman and husband, William, Anthony Del Rio, and Nicholas Del Rio; great-grandchildren, Jayden Velasquez, Zechariah Velasquez, Anthony Berman, Samantha Berman, Isabella Del Rio, and Tristan Del Rio; sister, Carmen Elidia Hernandez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Maria is preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth Velasquez.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford with Pastor Samuel Bautista officiating.
