Mariam Crance Ferguson

Mariam Crance Ferguson, 81, of Wirtz, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Franklin Memorial Hospital. She was born December 17, 1928 in Hinton, West Virginia, daughter of the late Francis Marion Crance and Clarice Lorraine Seldomridge Crance. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thomasson Ferguson, Sr.; one brother, Francis Marion Crance, Jr.

 Mariam was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and the choir.

 Mariam is survived by her three children, Deborah Lorraine Bowman and her husband, Miles of Broomall, PA, Floyd Thomasson Ferguson, Jr. and his wife, Bonnie of Richmond and Robert Carson Ferguson and his wife, Cindy of Lynchburg; nine grandchildren, Daniel Miles Bowman, Melanie Lorraine Shifflett and her husband, Geoffrey, David Clarence Bowman and his wife, Katie, Benjamin Estes Bowman, Taylor Crance Ferguson, Matthew Howle Ferguson, Audrey Chase Ferguson, Carson Elizabeth Ferguson and Gabriel Wyatt Ferguson; one great grandchild, Zachary Evan Shifflett; one brother, Nelson Lura Crance and his wife, Celine of Grand Cayman Island; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Mariam\"™s life will be conducted 5:00 PM, Friday, June 4, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Chapel Bedford with Rev. David W. Lord officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Smith Mountain Lake, 540-721-9375.
