Marian Hicks Roberts

Florence Marian Hicks Roberts, 81, of Bedford, died on Thursday, March 3, 2011. Born in Rahway, NJ on January 21, 1930, a daughter of the late Issac M. Hicks and Florence Perry Hicks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William George Roberts.

Marian loved reading, gardening, bird watching, painting and playing bridge. She was very active at Peaksview Church. She was a member of Patmos United Methodist Church in Huddleston 

Marian is survived by a son, William A. Roberts and his wife, Mari of IL; a daughter, Beverly Brown and her husband, Jim of Evington, VA; a brother, John Hicks and his wife, Ellen of PA; seven grandchildren, Jennifer R. Riley and her husband, Tim, Joshua Roberts and his wife, Janelle, Jason Roberts, Sara Roberts, John Savotti, Dyana Brightwell and her husband, Tracy; three step grandchildren, Matthew Brown and his wife, Mary, Patrick Brown, Kristian Brown and wife, Laura; also eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at Patmos United Methodist Church Sunday, March 6, 2011, 2:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. Carl H. Douglass Jr. officiating.
