Marie Agnes Mason – “Nonnie”
A lady who exuded kindness, warmth and love, Marie Mason of Rustburg Virginia, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2018 at the age of 78. She was born July 24, 1939 to her loving, late parents, Corbin and Eva Bigger. She was the youngest of 10 siblings, all of whom have passed on.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby E. Mason. She leaves behind their daughter, Eva Michelle Christian and a son-in-law, Anthony Christian.
The name “Nonnie” was given to her by her three grandchildren, Morgan, Micah, and Sydney, and her great grandson, Jaylon, all of whom love her and will carry her memory for the remainder of their lives.
She will also be remembered by her many precious friends and beloved family members who were very dear to her heart.
Marie was retired after serving many years at General Electric/Ericsson. She loved to garden and was an amazing cook. She valued her community, cherished her cat, and treated everyone like they were her own family. She will be both missed and celebrated.
The family will have friends on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home at 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502. A funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m at Rustburg Baptist Church in Rustburg, VA with Rev. Roger Roller officiating. Interment will follow in Cumbie Memorial Cemetery.
