Marie Layshley, 86, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on May 2, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Myler and Margaret Myler.

Marie was born on November 6, 1938, in Widnes, United Kingdom. She attended school at St. John Fisher Moore then pursued her career as a secretary.

Marie enjoyed attending church service at St. Thomas Moore in Lynchburg, Virginia. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchild, and her beloved dog, Bonnie.

Marie is survived by her daughters, M. Diane Williams (James), and Anita Layshley-Cooper; grandchildren, Alexander Taylor, Krista Scherer(Jesse), Jacob Williams, Megan Cooper, Holly Cooper; great-grandchild, Elijah Scherer; siblings, Edward Myler (Christine), and Christine Haddock (G. Melvin); and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends here in her community and in the United Kingdom.

In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, George Lashley; brothers, Patrick Myler, Jack Myler, Jospeh Myler, Thomas Myler; sister Margaret Ward.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Stjude.org

A service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 12:30 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg
