Marilyn Branch Glover, 82, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was the devoted wife of Clyde M. (Buddy) Glover Jr., whom preceded her death in 2012. They were married for 50 years.
Marilyn was born on Texas Independence Day, March 2, 1942, in Galveston Texas. She attended Southern Seminary School in Buena Vista, Virginia, where she met her husband, Buddy, at a V.M.I. cadet ball. The two married and were stationed in Washington state with the United States Army. Following separation from the Army, the two resided in Texas, New Jersey, and Virginia throughout Buddy’s career. Marilyn worked as a Legal Secretary. She was a loyal congregant of the First Baptist Church Southard, in Howell, New Jersey for many years.
Marilyn was an avid horse lover all throughout her life. She was a dedicated and loving Mother, Grandmere and Great-Grandmere. She had traveled to many places, including Europe, the Middle East, the Mediterranean, Africa, South America, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska.
She is survived by her daughter: Michelle Hulse of Toms River, New Jersey, her granddaughter: Rebecca Greene, her husband Anthony, along with great-grandchildren Irellend, Sawyer and Zachary, whom she cherished, of Sumter, South Carolina, and her grandson Garrett Hulse of Toms River, New Jersey.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Garbee Family Cemetery, 3066 Lawyers Road, Lynchburg, VA. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Buddy, and her beloved poodle, Emma.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
