Marjorie Elleen Schluter Jones, 72, of Moneta died, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at her residence. She was the wife of Leon Alton Jones.
Born August 6, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Louis F. Schluter and Margaret Elizabeth Kahler Williamson; stepfather, Vernon C. Williamson; and also her sister, Brenda Lonning.
Marjorie retired from Black & Decker Tool after 40 years. She enjoyed painting, cooking and traveling. She was a dedicated member and worker of Parrish Chapel United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Laurie Millender and husband, David and Robin Blankenship and husband, Larry; granddaughter, Grace Millender; grandsons, Graham Millender and Garrett Kysor; brother-in-law, David Jones and wife, Betty; nephew, Craig Jones; and a number of aunts and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Parrish Chapel United Methodist Church in Chamblissburg.
The family request memorial contributions be made in Marjorie’s honor to St. Jude Research Hospital or Children’s Miracle Network.
The family would like to thank Dr. Temeles and the staff of Blue Ridge Cancer Care Center in Roanoke for the love and care given to Marjorie.
