Margie Parrish, 87, of Lynchburg, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 5, 2015. She was the wife of the late Calvin Lee Parrish for 61 years.
Born Tuesday, March 13, 1928 in Lynchburg; Margie was a daughter of the late Harry Dulaney Logwood and the late Mary Briggs Logwood.
Margie she is survived by her children, Bonnie Whitaker and her husband, Jim of Lynchburg, Barbara Horton and her husband, Ken of Lynchburg, and Pastor Ken Parrish and his wife, Becky of Lynchburg; a daughter-in-law, Sally Parrish Clark and her husband, Jimmy of Keeling; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margie was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Lee Parrish, Jr.; a grandson, Aaron Horton and his wife, Rachael; a beloved aunt, Bruce Briggs; two sisters and four brothers.
Margie was active in The Church as a Sunday School teacher, nursery school teacher, Bible Study participant, and prayer warrior.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Margie’s life will be conducted at 9:30 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Victory Christian Fellowship, 615 Leesville Road, with Pastor Ken Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
