Mark D. Murphy, 64 of Augusta, Georgia, formally of Bedford, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
Born May 23, 1952, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Alice Murphy of Bedford. He is also preceded in death by a grandson; Karavi Murphy and a sister; Rachel Minnis.
Mark is survived by his wife, Sheila Murphy; five children: Kyria and Winfred Jeffries, Rashieda, Chandra, and Mark T. Murphy; four grandchildren: Zazmyn Whitfield, Lauryn Terry, Kingston Norman and Matthew Brown; three brothers: Wilbur Murphy and wife, Saguan, Larry Murphy and wife, Peggy and Gerald Murphy; five sisters: Odessa Brown, Maelynn Flemmings and Garfield, Diane Jackson, Glenda Davis and Juan, and Donna Johnson; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford conducted by Donald Fisher. Interment will follow at the Murphy family cemetery.
Family will gather at the home of Donna Johnson after the services.
