Mark Davis Bradley, Age 68 of Forest VA, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on May 22, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet Harris Bradley, daughters Kimberly J. Bradley of Lake Worth, FL, and Gina L. Fox (Milton) of Forest VA. Mark is also survived by his brother-in-law, Gary L. Harris (Sharon) of Salisbury NC and niece Cathryn F. Harris of Forest VA. Mark was also blessed to have many relatives from Indiana and Ohio and longtime friends in his life that meant the world to him. He loved life and being surrounded by his inner circle and loved ones.
Mark was born on April 24, 1949 in Englewood, NJ. He was the only child of the late Leslie W. and Mary Ellen Bradley, formerly of Indianapolis, IN and then Melbourne, FL following his dad’s retirement from IBM Company.
Mark was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center and a 1971 Graduate of Lynchburg College. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees. He loved to participate in bowling, softball, and golf. He also enjoyed playing guitar with the “Olde Stuff Band”. Making music with his band family was his passion.
A very special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Colorectal Unit of the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland OH, and especially the doctors and nurses of Centra Hospice for their loving care.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Mark’s name be directed to support The Helping Hands Funds within the Colorectal Surgery Department at Cleveland Clinic by mailing to Cleveland Clinic, PO Box 931517, Cleveland, OH 44193 or to the Class of 1971 Memorial Scholarship Fund at Lynchburg College, by mailing to the Office of Advancement, Lynchburg College, 1501 Lakeside Dr., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
