Mark Matthew Wilkerson, 53, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was the husband of the late Renee Carwile Wilkerson.
Born Thursday, March 16, 1961 in Lynchburg, Mark was a son of the late Charles Wilkerson, Sr. and the late Naomi Johnson Wilkerson.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Ashley Wilkerson.
Mark is survived by his children; Jacqueline Wilkerson and her fiancé, Russell Cooper,
James Ashby Wilkerson, and Matt Wilkerson; two brothers: Phillip Wilkerson, of Lynchburg, and Darrell Wilkerson, and his wife, Nancy, of Lynchburg, and a sister,
Dale Hernandez, and her husband, Joe of El Paso, Texas.
Mark was a loving father and brother. He loved to play the bass. He was a kind hearted man, “if he had it and you needed it, he would give it to you.†He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg.
