Marvin Dannard Branch, 95, of Big Island passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his residence. He was born on September 14, 1920, a son of the late George Walter Branch and Mayoma Austin Branch. In addition to his parents Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Daisy Wilson Branch; a son, Marvin Leon Branch; a sister, Princess Wilson; four brothers, Homer Branch, Jack Branch, Sam Branch and Earl Branch.

Marvin was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church in Big Island. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the outdoors. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. He retired as a weaver with the Burlington Industry.

Marvin is survived by four children, Rachel B. Toms and her husband, Carlton, Susie B. Manley and her friend Craig Eichhorn, W.D. Branch and his wife, Carolyn and Janice B. Daniels; twelve grandchildren, Dennis, Troy, Cindy, Jill, Terry, Todd, Chad, Stephanie, Tanya, Kim, DeAnna and Melanie; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Precious Markham, Betsy Manley and Truly Casto ; special friend, Christine Goff, and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Marvin’s life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Hunting Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Carey Snellings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford, and all other times at the home of Rachel and Carlton Toms. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford is assisting the family.
