Mary Anderson Bryant, of Forest, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 5, 2017. She was the loving wife of Fred L. Bryant.
She was born March 16, 1930, in Nathalie, the daughter of Claudie and Elsie Anderson; she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, C.W. Anderson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Fred L. Bryant; three children and their spouses, Mary Kay Bryant, Fred L. Bryant Jr.(Angie), Anita Williams (Rich); three grandchildren, Chris Bryant, Pam Williams and Dan Williams; a host of nieces and nephews and devoted friends.
Mary graduated from the University of Virginia with a Master’s Degree in Reading Education. She retired from Lynchburg Christian Academy where she was the Librarian for twenty-five years. She was an active member of Pleasant View Baptist Church until her failing health.
Her compassion, generosity, and talents enriched many lives. You can travel the world with a good book.

The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, 220 Breezewood Drive, Monday, January 9, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2016, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Reverend Ricky Ewing officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
