Mary Blanks Wranek
Mary Blanks Wranek passed away on November 23, 2012. Born July 19, 1933, in Halifax, she was the daughter of Claude and Mollie Blanks. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 49 years, John Josef Wranek, Jr.
Mrs. Wranek graduated from E.C. Glass High School and enjoyed the monthly fellowship of her high school classmates. She was a longtime member of The Woman\"™s Club of Lynchburg and an avid bridge player. She and her husband were devoted fans of UVA athletics, especially football. Mrs. Wranek was devoted to her family and was a member of St. John\"™s Episcopal Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Lynda Wranek Cash of Goode, Elizabeth Wranek Celli of Lynchburg, and Patricia Wranek George of Lynchburg; a son, John Josef Wranek III of Lexington; and nine grandchildren, Robert Frederick Chase, Haley Paige Lee, Casey Elizabeth Lee, Lindsay Ann Eckert, John Brent Eckert, Joseph Tyler Spriggs, Sydney Rae George, Evan Josef Wranek and William Davis Wranek. She is also survived by her niece, Robin M. Waugh, and two nephews, Robert H. Waugh III and John W. Waugh.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Funeral services will be graveside at 11 am on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Spring Hill Cemetery.
