Mary Cary Chipley

Mary Cary Chipley died Saturday August 2, 2014 at Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Allen Chipley and Hunter Dixon Chipley and a lifelong resident of Lynchburg.
Mary Cary attended Randolph-Macon Woman’s College after which she began a forty-five year career as a legal secretary for Frank G. Davidson Jr. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for many years.
Mary Cary was predeceased by two sisters, Mabel Margretta Chipley and Lucy Archer Chipley Withington and three brothers, Hunter Dixon Chipley, William Allen Chipley and Robert Tilden McLeod Chipley. She is survived by her sister Virginia Chipley Wyatt and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Tuesday August 5th at 12:30 pm. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
