Mary Elizabeth Tyree Stinnett
Mary Elizabeth Tyree Stinnett (Granny) Madison Heights, VA. died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 just three days after her 99th birthday. She was the widow of Louis E. Stinnett, Sr. Granny was a people person and was always willing to give help to anyone who was in need. She was an excellent cook and fed school children and teachers in Lynchburg and Madison Heights for many years. Granny got the nickname "Mustang" after receiving a speeding ticket in her 64 1/2 Mustang. She was one in a million.
In addition to her husband, Granny was preceded in death by her 3 children, Louis E. Stinnett, Jr., Jean Banton, and John M. Stinnett. She is survived by her sister, Irene Tyree of the residence, 5 grandchildren, Eddie, Brad and David Stinnett of Lynchburg Va, Kimberly Banton Crammer of Millersville, Pa.,and Myra Beth Trent of Brookneal Va. and 5 great-grandchildren, Cory
Stinnett, Autumn Stinnett of Lynchburg, Kevin and Bailey Trent of Brookneal and Candice Wood of Richmond, a special niece, Margaret Tyree of Forest, and two daughters-in-law, Peggy and Linda Stinnett. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Revs, Virgil and Sue Knipp presiding.
