Mary Ferguson Cox, 95, of Lynchburg, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 24, 2017. She was the wife of the late Owen Mason Cox for over 63 years.
Born October 30, 1921 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Morton Oscar Ferguson, and the late Bessie Bell Ferguson.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Ramsey and her husband, Bobby, of Elon, and Sandra Lee Salmon and her husband, Wayne, of Lynchburg; two sons, Fred Mason Cox and his wife, Marie, of Lynchburg, and Michael Wayne Cox and his wife Donna, of Rustburg; thirteen grandchildren, along with many great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Mary was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and the Steadfast Sunday School class. She taught the primary class for ten years and worked with missions in the Steadfast Class.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in Pate Chapel-Thomas Road Baptist Church. A Celebration of Mary’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in Pate Chapel-Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
