Mary Forbes Hogan, 83, of Lynchburg, went Home to be with our Lord on Monday, February 16, 2015. She was the loving wife of William H. Hogan.
Mary was born in Roanoke County on May 26, 1931, as the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle Forbes.
In addition to her husband, whom she loved affectionately, she is survived by her two sons: Wes Hogan of Billings, Montana, and David Hogan and his wife, Angela of Long Island, NY; seven wonderful grandchildren: Wes’ children: Melissa Gaskey, Donnie and Jessica Hogan; David’s children: Kyle, Brittany, Brooke, and Chad Hogan; three great-grandchildren: Victoria Gaskey, Zachary and Ayla Hogan; two sisters: Jen Jones of San Tan Valley, Arizona, and Betsy Williams and her husband, Haywood of Salem, Virginia; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Myrtle Forbes; a sister, Lottie Forbes Cronk and her husband, Adrian; and a niece, Brenda C. Clowers.
Friends and family are invited to join us in a celebration of Mary’s life and to acknowledge the graciousness of our God. Services will be conducted at Beulah Baptist Church, 528 Leesville Road, Lynchburg, Virginia 24502 in Lynchburg on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends who wish to visit with the family may do so today, Wednesday, February 18, 2015, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and then from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, Virginia 24502.
On a personal note: Throughout Mary’s life, friends have paved her path with bouquets of blessings.
