Mary Frances Reynolds

Mary Frances Reynolds, 85, of Lynchburg died after an extended illness on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at The Carrington.  She was the loving wife of the late Allen Reynolds.

Frances was born June 15, 1924 in Richmond, VA, a daughter of the late James L. Jordan, Sr. and Lucy Bennett Jordan Bennefield. She retired from Revco Drug after many years of service.  She was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church where she worked in the church nursery and helped with bible school. Frances was also a member of the Women of the Moose 1335 and the Academy of Friendship.

She is survived by her children: Laura R. Scott and husband Brian of Lynchburg, and Kenneth Allen Reynolds of Roanoke, her granddaughter, Kristy Scott and friend Aaron Bowles of Salem, several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Helen and Marvin Owen of Lynchburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, W.G. Bennefield and her brother, James L. Jordan, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.  A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA with Past Chaplain of the American Legion Post 16, Robert Cardwell officiating.
