Mary ‘Frances’ Wilson

Mary \"˜Frances\"™ Ware Wilson, 90, of Monroe, went to be with Jesus Thursday, February 17, 2011.  She was the wife of the late Ligon J. Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson was born November 23, 1920, in Amherst County; she was a daughter of the late Talmage DeWitt Ware and Mary Foster Ware. She was a lifelong member of Big Island Baptist Church and a member of the Big Island garden Club.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her son, Louis Wilson, and his wife, Sherrill, of Monroe, two grandchildren; Keith Wilson of Monroe, Mary Elaine Merat and her husband Joses of Appomattox; a sister, Margaret Watts of South Boston; a brother and sister \""in-law: Kenneth and Helen Conner, several nieces and nephews and a host of church members she considered her family.  In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Snead and her husband Bernard.

The family will receive friends at1:00 p.m. Monday February 21, 2011, at Big Island Baptist Church.  A memorial service will follow at 2.00 p.m. with the Rev. Bryon Lepere officiating.
