Mary touched so many lives. She loved her life in Lynchburg and all of the friends she met while living here. In addition to being a busy mother of five, Mary held various positions in Lynchburg. She helped develop the first Domestic Violence Prevention program and started the Lynchburg Birthright chapter. She did volunteer work with the Junior League before she became involved with the YWCA. She left the YWCA in 1982 to become director of The Williams Home, a retirement home for women she ran until 1992 when she "retired." When Mary "retired" she started her own case management company, Mary Sadler Services, to assist the elderly and disabled with the everyday needs and life skills. Mary was a very loyal person. She was a member of the same bridge club for over 50 years and had the same hairdresser for over 60 years.
