Mary Helen Pitman

Mary Helen Pitman, 77, of Lynchburg, VA, died Saturday, February 09, 2013. She was the wife of the late Orlyn Lemar Pitman.

Born Saturday, October 26, 1935 in Racine, WI, Mary was a daughter of the late Henry VanHierden and the late Nora Marchia VanHierden.

Mary is survived by her children: Sheila Phillips, Denise DeVerna and her husband, Jonathan and Daniel Pitman; six grandchildren: Greg Phillips, Michael Phillips, Kyle DeVerna and his wife, Ally, Philip DeVerna, Colton Pitman, and Sara Bailey; and five great grandchildren: Derian, Kaley, Liam, Emalyn, and Audrie.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Heritage Baptist Church. A celebration of Mary's life will follow at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Heritage Baptist Church, with Dr. Gerald Kroll officiating.
